On Dec. 27, 2016, Life Care Center of Seneca, Kansas, not only hosted its annual staff Christmas party – it also gave a resident the chance to shove a pie in the face of one of the associates.
It was all in good fun, and all for a great cause! During the weeks leading up to Christmas, the center hosted a contest to support the Seneca-area Coins for a Cause. The nonprofit provides financial assistance to families stricken with cancer or other illness who need help to pay for treatment.

One of the week’s activities was a coloring contest for local elementary school students. Students were encouraged to develop a theme celebrating Nursing Home Week and color a picture of Florence Nightingale.
Pauline Bower, a resident at Life Care Center of Seneca, Kansas, celebrated her 100th birthday on Feb. 23, 2016.
The facility held a birthday party and open house in the dining room for Bower’s family and friends from the community and her fellow residents. A very large crowd enjoyed the cake and punch served by Tracie Wagner, activity director, and Sandy Koch, social services associate.
